Veolia FOGO

Enviregen has previously assisted one of the world’s largest waste management companies with a food and garden (FOGO) waste solution in NSW. Kerbside collected FOGO from a large Sydney Council area was beneficiated via large scale composting at our partners organics facilities. The compost derived from this resource was used in broad acre land application and helped to rebuild farming soil structures.

Enviregen also helped one of our clients to divert approximately 20,000 tonnes of commercial food waste from landfill each year. The food waste was derived from supermarkets and commercial markets in Sydney. The waste was transformed into a valuable organic resource to help grow feed for livestock in rural NSW. The produce was then sold back to the supermarkets. We believe this was an exceptional example of circular economy for food waste.

C&D Recycling Acquisition:

We assisted a multinational private capital business, with a focus on infrastructure and waste management assets, explore opportunities for growth in Australia. Our services for due diligence included commercial and market reports such as C&D waste industry analysis, red flag reports, business plan development and management integration into the business. Our post-acquisition services include operational review and improvement, securing waste volumes, recruiting and training of the sales team, strategic planning advice, and identification of new acquisition targets.

$235 Million Business Acquired

Acquisition of Waste Services NSW – member of the bid team which acquired the business for $235 million from the NSW State Government and delivered 120% of modelled business synergies. Led change management and business development resulting in $70 million growth of revenues over 3 years.

$2 Billion Added Revenue

Lucas Heights Landfill Expansion – lead negotiator with Sutherland Shire Council resulting in an 8.3 million tonne capacity increase, $2 billion additional revenue, and $100 million financial benefit to ratepayers.

Led $50 Million Investment

Kemps Creek Waste Processing Facility (SAWT) – led bid teams for contracts with local government to underpin $50 million investment for a 134,000-tonne waste processing plant with a 20-year concession period.

$18 Million in Capital Improvements

Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises – procured a long-term waste processing contract on behalf of shareholders with costs broadly in line with landfill rates, delivered $18 million in capital improvements, increased net profit year on year whilst increasing provisions for closure and post closure costs.

Product Stewardship - e-Waste

In 2011 Mark Pobje was involved in the Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS) team that developed and supported the application and approval process with Federal Government and many varying stakeholders to be awarded the fifth (and last to date) approval in 2013. This business was known as Electronic Product Stewardship Australia (EPSA). In the first year of trading EPSA had less than 1% market share. In year three EPSA held over 33% market share and the parent Sims business was servicing another 33% of the market.

Boral

Boral – Grew the profit for a large-scale source separated construction and demolition recycling business five-fold over a 7-year period. This was achieved via brown fields & greens field expansions, as well as substantial efficiency gains. The business received and processed over 1.5 Mtpa of crushed concrete and brick material.
